A class action lawsuit has been filed against Uber on behalf of its Texas drivers. Uber has advertised to customers on its web site and in marketing materials that a gratuity is included in the cost of its car service. The app gives a total payment to customers and no specific line for tipping.
Ross Sears, attorney for the Uber drivers, said, "I think it's a good company with a good idea but my position is when you build something like that on the backs of someone else, i.e. the drivers, you shouldn't do it in a way that abuses or takes advantage of the people who are helping you build this empire."
